Tunisia, Qatar sign agreements in energy, investment

Tunisie - Economie et Finances
Tunisia and Qatar have signed agreements in the sectors of justice, culture, investment and energy, the official TAP press agency reported Monday.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali and Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is on a two-day official visit to the North African country.

The agreements include a protocol of understanding on the protection of historical sites, as well as memoranda of understanding (MOU) relative to the building of a phosphates plant in southern Tunisia, and the extension of the Skhira oil refinery plant near Gabes.

An MOU between the Tunisian gas and electricity company (STEG) and the Qatari water and electricity company was also signed.
